Thimbleberry

Thimbleberry

I had a visit today from a long-time friend (Dave) reminding me that I hadn’t posted anything for a while.  I have been shooting but when the weather is nice I take every advantage to get outside.  Summertime means time at our cabin and hikes in the mountains.  I can’t resist the wonder of nature and I am in awe of the changes that occur is the short growing season of the high altitude mountains.  This image is of a thimbleberry leaf (Rubus parviflorus) that sprouted in a matter of days in the cool, damp weather this June.  In just a few weeks, red raspberry-like fruit will appear and will be favoured by bears.
